All this rain and snow melt brings with it a problem homeowners generally don't have to deal with in late January.
If you've got a sump pump, chances are it'll be running over the next couple days.
Drainage supplies are a section of the Hardware Store that are generally pretty empty this time of year.
While stores are happy to sell things like sump pumps, there are other items they'd rather be selling right now.
At Hardware Plus in Osceola, the focus has gone from snowblowers, to sump pumps.
"Generally we sell a lot of snowblowers, a lot of snowblower parts. Ice melter, snow shovels. This year hasn't been too good of a year for those type of things," says Chris Hughes with Hardware Plus.
Instead, the hardware store expects to see folks come in over the next few days to buy whatever they need to keep their homes dry.
"When we have lots of rain like this, it's a great time to get the extensions on your downspouts, tubing, piping, anything to get the water out and away from the house," says Hughes.
Other businesses are feeling the hurt of a winter warmup.
Folks like Phil Grove, who started a snow plowing business a few years ago say, 'what happened to winter?'
Grove says he usually pushes three times the amount of snow that he has so far this season.
"We just bought a new house so we were hoping that plow money could go towards that, but there's really nothing coming in," says Grove.
Grove says he's looking forward to the snow expected later this week.
