The strange weather we've had this winter is causing some headaches for the Saint Joseph County Parks Department.
Just last Thursday Saint Pat's and Ferrettie Baugo Creek parks were getting ready for tubing. Now there's barely any snow on the ground. Saint Pat's has a lot of green grass with only patches.
"Its frustrating," says K.C. Nieboer with the county parks department. "In some ways we know people would like to get out and do some winter sports and you know they can't do that now. And of course we would like to have the income to repair some things. And buy some new equipment."
The parks department is still optimistic about opening the tubing hill and ski trails again this season, and with the snow returning now, they hope it will be sooner rather than later.
