Northern Indiana residents in need of medical care have a new option. Doctors Express Neighborhood Urgent Care Center opened Thursday at Heritage Square in Granger.
The new center offers a low-cost alternative to emergency room care for illness and injury along with a variety of other services. You can get digital X-ray services, lab work, and occupational health service as well.
Dr. Rich Sullivan with the center says they aren't a replacement for the emergency room or your family doctor.
"We can sort through minor problems very quickly and determine whether somebody needs to go to the emergency department or if someone needs to be treated and sent to their family physician for further follow up," explains Dr. Sullivan.
Urgent care centers like this one are a growing trend across the country, with almost 10,000 active centers in the U.S.
Doctors Express Granger is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm every day.
