Gas prices are at it again, they're jumping and this time they're flirting with the four dollar mark. Several Michiana stations were selling gas for $3.75 Thursday night.
According to gasbuddy.com the reason for the hike is a refinery explosion outside of Toledo, Ohio.
They say this has caused prices to spike because of panic. It's caused about a 20 cent jump in prices just since Wednesday. Prices from gas buddy Tuesday had most stations at $3.55 per gallon.
Drivers aren't happy about the sudden increase. Kevin Davis Sr. said, "I think that we shouldn't have to pay that. Something should be done they should find out, lawmakers should find out why everytime a refinery or something explodes or whatever that we have to pay the price for it." Davis Sr. was filling up his tank Thursday night at one of the few gas stations that hadn't jumped up to $3.75 yet. The 7-11 at Mishawaka Ave and Ironwood was still selling gas for $3.55 and that's exactly why Davis says he pumped his gas there. "My wife called me before I left work and she said that uh gas was at $3.75 but the one at Mishawaka Ave, gas was $3.75 everywhere else but here it was still $3.55"
