Mayor Pete Buttigieg talked about all of the progress the city is making during his first "Mayor's Night In" of 2013. The mayor had 12 of these opportunities last year. He either goes out into the community or opens his office to residents who get to meet with him about any given topic.
Tonight the mayor spoke about the excitement of having a new police chief and the year ahead. "We think this is gonna be a really great year for South Bend. We've got a lot of pieces in place, key personnel, moving forward at full speed on everything from neighborhoods to downtown technology, customer service to safety. We've got our work cut out for us and we're working hard."
Representatives from many city departments were also on hand to answer questions or speak to residents about department projects and programs.
