The executive chef at Spire Farm-to-Fork Cuisine in La Porte is a little bacon obsessed.
So he's going for a world record.
With the help of volunteers he'll be creating a 350 foot BLT.
And the cool part is the food all comes from local farmers, growers and producers.
"I know it's very cliche for a chef to love bacon, but it's part of me," said Spire Farm-to-Forck Cuisine's Executive Chef Brad Hindsley. "I go out of my way to try new ways to incorporate bacon into a dish. I have bacon shoes with bacon strips on them."
The restaurant will have bacon specials all next week, including a bacon inspired local craft beer.
Then on Sunday the 10th..they'll attempt the world record at the LaPorte County Fair.
