Alcohol, speed, and icy roads may have led to a fatal crash in St. Joseph County Friday night.
Police say 40 year old Christopher Perkins of Mishawaka was driving westbound on Cleveland Road near Juniper when he lost control, spun several times, and crossed over into the eastbound lanes.
Perkins collided with a mini-van.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The passengers of the minivan, 76 year old Andrew Zawisza and 74 year old Terry Zawisza of Granger were taken to the hospital, but they're expected to be ok.
Police believe Perkins was speeding in the icy conditions and that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
