A convicted murderer from Indiana who was mistakenly released after a court appearance in Chicago was recaptured while watching TV at a home in northern Illinois.
Cook County Sheriff's Office spokesman Frank Bilecki says Steven Robbins was taken by surprise when police burst through the door of a townhome in Kankakee, Illinois.
Police says Robbins put up no resistance when he was arrested Friday night, two days after his mistaken release.
Bilecki says it appears the owner of the home might know an acquaintance of the convict.
Robbins was expected to be back in Indiana prison custody Saturday.
He was convicted of murder in 2004 and serving a 60 year sentence.
