Special Olympics Indiana held a basketball tournament at Marian HIgh School Saturday. Dozens of athletes from five counties came together for the games. They've been practicing for months mastering the skills of the game. Saturday was their chance to show off everything they've learned. "A lot of time I see the athletes that don't have a lot of opportunity to do these things for whatever reason. This gives them that opportunity to get out there and compete," said St. Joseph County Special Olympics Coordinator, David Graf.
The State Basketball competition for the special Olympics athletes will be held in March. And organizers said they are always looking for open gyms to practice in before those big competitions.
