Some watch the Super Bowl for the game, others just watch for the commercials.
This year the cost for a 30 second commercial approached $4,000,000.
Some of the big spenders this year were Budweiser, Doritos and Go Daddy.
Media analysts say they saw some new trends this year.
"What I saw was a trend with movie themes, movie themes that you tweak with a commercial, for instance the Pepsi ad, with the Pepsi next, parents coming home to this party that to me was Tom Cruise, Risky Business all over again," says Joyce Hicks a media professor at St. Mary's.
Super Bowl ads have gotten so popular that many companies release them online days before the big game.
