The State is dismissing the case against a South Bend man accused of murder. James Bond Jr. had been charged in connection to the April 2011 death of Ramon Hamilton.
In a 2011 trial a jury found Bond not guilty of Robbery and Felony Murder, but were 'hung' on the Murder charge.
A new trial had been set for February, but the prosecutors office says they do not think it is any more likely they will get a conviction the second time.
Prosecutors do say that they could re-file charges if new evidence is found later. There is no statute of limitations for the Murder charge.
