The flu scare may have quieted down a bit, but here's a virus you may want to look out for. It's the norovirus. And Family Physician Ken Elek says once you've got it, there's not much you can do.
It's highly contagious, even three days after you're better. It causes stomach pain and then usually leads to vomiting and diarrhea. So he says the biggest problem is dehydration. "Watch for symptoms of dry mouth and light headed and just not being able to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. It just keeps going on and on and just doesn't stop."
He says it's a common virus for this time of year, but he is seeing more cases than usual.
