Notre Dame students are going green and we don't mean the color.
They are trying to be more energy conscious and have even started a competition called,"Megawatt Madness."
Dorms will compete against each other on who can implement the most energy saving practices.
Organizers say that you can save a lot of energy doing simple things.
"To unplug things that use phantom energy, like TVs and stereos, computers and phone chargers, another great way is to wash your laundry on cold and then hang dry your clothes instead of using the dryer," says Rachel Novick an organizer.
The competition will last for three weeks and prizes will be awarded to the winning dorm.
