The South Bend Schools Corporation held their monthly safety meeting Wednesday.
Board members discussed the importance of safety training for faculty and staff.
They're wanting staff to be ready if a crisis happens.
Also, security officers will receive training with police in the coming months.
This comes after a program revealed yesterday by South Bend police.
They'll have officers walking around school campuses throughout the day.
"We have been working hard already," said School Board Member Jay Caponigro. "And certainly as a district as big as we are. We are very conscious of things we need to make sure are in place for our kids to be safe."
Later this month, South Bend Schools will be hosting a training event put on by the U.S. Attorney's office.
