Another Extreme Closet Makeover comes to a close.
This one is a friendly competition between schools in South Bend and Mishawaka.
Their goal was to gather and donate the most clothing to Goodwill Industries of Michiana.
They gathered almost 9,600 pounds of clothing this year.
The winning school was LaSalle Intermediate School who collected almost two pounds per student.
Debie Coble, the Vice President of Workforce Development Services says, "That's significant. This is the time of year when donations are slow and people are not thinking about cleaning out their closets. And so, to get this donation, it's very important to us to help keep our stores full."
Workforce Development and Goodwill Industries hopes this friendly competition will become an annual event.
