Benton Harbor residents warned about string of burglaries

Posted:

The following is a release from the Benton Harbor Dept. of Public Safety:

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety has been investigating numerous home invasions/burglaries in the City of Benton Harbor for the past few weeks.  The majority of these burglaries are occurring while home owners are away from their residences at work, school or running errands.

We are asking for the citizen's help in combating this growing trend.  If citizens see or hear ANYTHING suspicious in their neighborhoods, contact the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety as soon as possible.  Be watchful of your neighbor's homes if they are away and be mindful if you see unfamiliar faces loitering in the neighborhoods.

We would also remind home owners to document important information (serial numbers, etc.) regarding valuables inside their homes.

Anyone with information concerning these crimes is asked to contact the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety @ 269-927-8436 or our Tip Line 269-927-0293 or Crime Stoppers @ 1-800-342-STOP.
