Job-seekers converged on Goodwill's "Community Career Center" Wednesday in Mishawaka. About 125 people were there looking for work. It was one-stop shopping, with about 15 different companies looking to hire.
"I'm looking for clerical, factory, office cleaning, or whatever there
is available," said job seeker Joyce Harris. "I can pretty much do a little bit of everything."
They held one of these a few months ago, and it went so well organizers say they decided to hold another.
"There's not that many jobs in our community right now so I figured this was an opportunity to find work," said Lamarcus Allen.
"As we are still continuing to struggle to get everybody back to work
that wants to work, it's real important that we make it as easy as we
can for the employers to get the best possible candidates that they
can," said Debie Coble, VP of Workforce Development Services.
The Job Fair was a collaboration between Goodwill's 2nd Chance at Work Program, Vocational Rehabilitation, and the St. Joseph County Impact Program.
