Goodwill Industries in South Bend hosted mobile blood drive Friday. Over 30 Goodwill employees took part in the blood drive.
Blood Donor Recruitment Specialist Melissa Newton says each donor will save up to three lives. "Without companies hosting us for blood drives," said Newton. "We would
have a really difficult time maintaining an adequate supply of blood for
our community."
43% of blood collected in 2012 was from mobile drives.
The South Bend Medical Foundation is always in need of blood but says there is a specific need for type O negative blood, which is a universal donor.
