She's finally home from war and was ready to meet her pen pals.
Captain Mandy Coy just returned from Afghanistan.
She was re-united today with her nephew and the rest of his second grade classmates today at Chikaming Elementary School in Sawyer.
The students sent her letters during her deployment, something she says made it easier to be so far from home.
Captain Mandy Coy says, "It helps us forget for that split second where we're at and the dangers that we face and how much we miss our family and friends."
Captain Coy has two little ones of her own..a one-year-old and a three-year-old.
She says she's more than willing to serve her country again.
But first she'd like to get re-acquainted with her family.
