South Bend man killed in crash

The roads proved deadly overnight.

A South Bend man was killed when he crashed into a tree and utility pole early Sunday morning.

Police say 44-year-old Shawn McClellan was driving in the 2,900 block of South Twyckenham Drive when it happened.

McClellan had to be extricated from his vehicle.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police say speed and alcohol could have been factors in the crash.
