If you were in Downtown South Bend Sunday, then you may have seen a giant mob of people circling the court house. They were participating in "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes."
It's St. Margaret's House's annual fundraiser and over 650 people of all ages gathered for the event. It was a record crowd and they walked a mile around South Bend to feel what it's like for many of the women who visit the day center.
"We want people to see that people care about the work we do and they care about the women of St. Margaret's House. 80% of the women who come to St. Margaret's House do so by walking," says Kathy Schneider, Executive Director of St. Margaret's.
This crowd was the largest they've had yet and they hoped to raise over 55-thousand dollars from the event.
