Brittney Watson (Courtesy St. Joseph Co. Police)A woman will spend 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder. Brittney Watson was found guilty of Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder in January. She along with four other people were convicted of killing Cornelius Miller in November of 2010.
The others in the case plead to lesser crimes. Stephon & Steven Rice each plead guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter. Brandon Rogers and Rene Vasquez plead guilty to Assisting a Criminal.
Watson was sentenced to 50 years, with 5 years suspended. She was also ordered 10 years of probation following her release. During sentencing the judge ruled that the two convictions "merged by operation of law," and dismissed the second count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Three of the other four people have already been sentenced. Vasquez is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday.
