If your planning on adding chickens in your backyard you may want to take a crash course.
That's why the Potawatomi Conservatory is offering Urban Chickens 101.
The urban chicken law passed a few months ago in South Bend allowing people to own up to 6 hens within city limits.
The class focuses on the basics in taking care of your chicken.
"We talk a lot about the chicken itself and its cycles of laying eggs and all that, we talk about the coop and the chicken run because that's ultimately important where the chickens gonna live and how your gonna have to take care of it," says Mitch Yaciw of Unity Gardens.
The class is Wednesday night at 6pm at the Potawatomi Conservatory, cost is $3.
