Police are asking for your help finding a suspect in the shooting of a South Bend man.  The shooting happened Tuesday morning on the 2100 block of West Hamilton St.

The victim, Marcus Northern, was shot in the leg and taken to an area hospital.  He was treated and released.

Authorities are searching for 36-year-old Derrick Jiggetts of South Bend.  Jiggetts has what police describe as "an extensive record, including a 1995 murder conviction from Chicago."  He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Jiggetts is 6'2" tall, 180lbs., with hazel eyes.  He has a teardrops tattoo near his right eye.  He was last seen wearing a blue and yellow skull cap and a blue jacket.

Anyone with information about his location, or the case, is asked to call their local police immediately.  Police urge everyone to not attempt to stop or detain Jiggetts themselves.
