A California nursing home is coming under fire after an elderly woman died when the staff refused to administer CPR.
Glenwood Gardens resident 87-year-old Lorraine Bayless collapsed in the dinning room on the morning of February 26. Prompting someone to call 911.
The dispatcher tried to give the caller instructions on how to administer CPR, but that person passed the phone to a nurse at the Bakersfield Facility.
Despite the dispatcher's pleading, the nurse refused to administer CPR saying that it's against the facility's policy.
The dispatcher asked the nurse to find a passerby who could perform CPR, but the nurse didn't. Bayless died at the hospital.
