A convicted child molester is facing new charges related to a decades old rape of a 10-year-old girl.
In March of 1988 a ten-year-old girl was abducted from her home, taken to a wooded area and assaulted. Police were unable to arrest a suspect at the time.
In 2011 the now adult victim contacted the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department for information about the case. The prosecutors office reopened the investigation, and performed a DNA test on evidence collected back in 1988.
The Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office says the DNA evidence led them to 50-year-old Robert Quinn. Quinn is currently serving a sentence on a parole violation from a 2005 child molestation charge out of Elkhart County.
Quinn is now facing charges of Rape, Child Molesting, and Criminal Confinement.
