Some people in Bridgman were trained to be storm spotters tonight.
That means they are going through training to report weather conditions in their area to the National Weather Service.
A meteorologist was able to answer questions by computer.
Part of the training involved learning about cloud formations and thunderstorms as well as how to report severe weather.
Captain Corey Burke, the coordinator of Berrien County Emergency management said, "Very valuable when we can put people through an actual class like this to better understand what to look for during the severe weather season."
The class was made available by the National Weather Service and the Berrien County Emergency Management Office.
