Police have a shooting suspect in custody that they have been looking for since late February. Marcus Northern was shot in the leg on February 26 in South Bend.
Police believe that Derrick Jiggetts of South Bend was the shooter. Jiggetts was found at a home in the South Bend's northwest side. Authorities say he went peacefully.
Jiggetts has what police describe as "an extensive record, including a 1995 murder conviction from Chicago."
He is currently being held in the St. Joseph County jail facing charges of Battery and Possession of a Handgun.
