Shipshewana residents now have another place to buy stamps and send their mail. The new Village Post Office at Town and Country Hardware opened Tuesday.
A Village Post Office is simply an extension of the post office. Indiana has the highest number of them in the country.
Customers will also be able to buy flat rate packaging and send packages. "It makes sure that the Post Office is in more than one place," explained Mary Dando with the Post Office. "You don't have to go to just the Post Office to get stamps now. you can come to your local hardware store. in this case, in Shipshewana."
The village post office will be open during the hardware store's regular hours.
