The F-D-A is warning people about Azithromycin.
Its commonly known as Zithromax or Z-pack.
Researchers say the medicine can cause abnormal changes in the electrical activity of the heart.
For example, if you take meds to keep you heart rhythm steady, then you may want to be wary of this.
We talked to a doctor with Memorial Family Medicine about this new warning.
"For someone who's taking the prescription the risk is really really low," said Memorial Family Medicine Residency's Dr. Dale Patterson. "For someone whos is otherwise healthy more than 100,000 people would have to take this medicine for one of them to have a problem with it. So if they're on it, I'd continue to take it."
The best thing you can do is ask your doctor about it.
