Michiana Rivers dyed green for St. Patrick's Day

After the St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg flipped the switch to turn the East Race Green.  A non toxic dye was added to the water as hundreds of people watched the river change colors.  It's a St. Patrick's Day tradition local children loved seeing.  "I like seeing it turn green.  Green's my favorite color," said Reece Reinholtz and his sister Shelby Reinholtz said, "It was good.  I liked it very much."

The Elkhart River was also dyed green today to celebrate the holiday.  The water was dyed in Downtown Elkhart near McCarthy's with dye approved by the Indiana DNR.
