It may be a chilly St. Patrick's Day weekend but that wasn't stopping 200 people from jumping into Simonton Lake Saturday. They were all jumping as part of the annual Leprechaun Leap. We're told the water was about 30 degrees. But it's all worth it, the event raises money for United Cancer Services of Elkhart County. "We raise money to help people who live right here while they're going through treatment. So their money stays local they're helping their neighbors and they're having a little fun along the way," said Peter Norton the Executive Director of United Cancer Services.
And FOX28 Meteorologist Joe Hansel was one of the brave jumpers. He plunged into the icy water alongside everyone else.
