It was never really a question as to whether or not the 2nd ranked Notre Dame women's basketball team would earn a number-one seed, but the drama was in finding out who and where the Irish will play.
The Irish will play 16th seed Tennessee-Martin in Iowa City, Iowa Sunday at 6 o'clock.
Coach Muffet McGraw was a little surprised by the selection committees decision to send the Irish to Iowa with a potential match-up with home team Iowa in the second round.
This bracket could also set up a Final Four game with UConn. Connecticut, Stanford and Baylor are the other number one seeds.
Overall the Big East champs are happy and ready to get the tourney underway.
Skylar Diggins was not available to the local media because she was sick and missed practice Monday. Coach McGraw said it's nothing serious, just resting her up before the tourney.
