A town hall meeting was held by Benton Harbor's City Commission and the Committed to Move Benton Harbor Forward.
They're trying to convince people to vote 'yes' on two millage proposals.
Benton Harbor's mayor says a 'yes' vote would help the city move forward financially.
"It's an advantage for the citizens and the city. Also, this puts us in a position where we're able to do long term planning because this will be a ten year millage instead of doing a special assessment every year, you don't know what you're going to have," says Mayor James Hightower.
The millage proposals will go before the voters on May 7th.
