Child safe, Ft. Wayne bus shooting suspect dead

Posted:

Police have killed a man who held a child hostage in a Fort Wayne home, after fatally shooting a woman on the side of a busy street this morning.

45-year-old Kenneth Knight pulled 49-year-old Jacqueline Hardy off a city bus, then shot her on the side of the road.

He then fled on foot to a home where he barricaded himself.

A single shot from a sniper killed Knight a little after 5 this afternoon.

Police say that the 3 year old boy is safe.

They also say that a protective order had been filed against Knight recently, but didn't say who requested the order.
