Area 5th graders preparing for "Battle of the Books"

Mishawaka 5th graders are reading feverishly to prepare for the upcoming "Battle of the Books" competition.

Twenty-one teams, made up students from several area schools and homeschoolers, will square off in a quiz competition on March 27. The students will be asked questions based on six books. They are The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden, A Dog's Life: The Autobiography of a Stray by Ann M. Martin, The Fairy-Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley, Honus & Me by Dan Gutman, My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George, and Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech.

The event is sponsored by the Mishawaka-Pann-Harris Public Library. It starts at 7:00pm in the Penn High School Cafeteria on Wednesday, March 27.
