Irish Icers win CCHA title

Notre Dame got goals from Anders Lee, Austin Wuthrich and Jeff Costello while Steven Summerhays stopped 20-of-21 Michigan shots as the Irish downed the Wolverines, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon to win the CCHA Championship.
Wuthrich got the game winner just 29 seconds into the third period to snap a 1-1 tie and Costello scored at 18:53 to seal the victory.
Notre Dame outshot Michigan by a 33-21 margin as freshman Steve Racine made 30 saves in the Wolverine goal.
The win was the third win by the Irish over Michigan in a CCHA title game and was the third CCHA championship for Notre Dame since the 2006-07 season.
The Irish are now 25-12-3 on the season and will advance to the NCAA Championships.
