Marian's Demetrius Jackson arrives in Chicago for All-American game

Demetrius Jackson has wowed Michiana basketball fans with amazing athletic plays since he first stepped on the floor at Marian High School.

Now he's got the chance to do the same thing, but this time on a national stage. Next Wednesday Jackson will play in the McDonald's All-American over in Chicago. The game features top high school basketball players from all over the United States and is televised on ESPN.

Despite the game being a few days away, Jackson and the other top high school players in the country are already in the Windy City.

"It feels surreal," said Jackson, in a phone interview. "Growing up, you know, I never thought I'd have this opportunity. But here I am sitting with McDonald's All-American across my chest."

Jackson says he is really enjoying the time he's getting to spend with other high school basketball stars as they hang out in downtown Chicago.

"You know being out here with the best players is awesome," said Jackson. "I'm really enjoying my time, enjoying my stay. I'm just thankful that I'm blessed with such a great opportunity."

According to Jackson, over the next few days the All-Americans will practice together and do charity work in the Chicago area.
