Five Points construction to cause frustration for drivers again

Drivers who routinely pass through the Five Points intersection just east of the St. Joseph River in South Bend may want to consider finding another way around during the upcoming weeks.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced its plans for resuming construction at the intersection on Monday. Crews will be tearing up pavement and building storm sewers on North Eddy Street between the Five Points intersection and Campeau Street.

INDOT says at least one lane in each direction will be restricted most of the time and the project is not expected to be completed until July of this year. This construction project may cause significant delays during peak hours.
