Dyngus Day celebrations start early

A polka band from Chicago started playing before 9am on Monday.

Sound early?

Not for people in Michiana celebrating one of the biggest days of the year, Dyngus Day.

Every table at the Crumstown Conservation Club was full by 8am as folks couldn't wait to start celebrating the Polish holiday.

"Its just the comradery, the people, its good times, the day after Easter, come out and celebrate, lets go," said Bill Jasinski of the Crumstown Conservation Club.

Over at the West Side Democratic Club, local political leaders started cooking early for a big day.

How big?

They expect to serve over 500 pounds of Polish sausage before the day is over.

Both spots were just a few of many around Michiana where people will celebrate Dyngus Day.
