Main Street traffic to be delayed for a few weeks in Mishawaka

Posted:

Remember that construction project on Main Street in Mishawaka that had drivers begging for mercy through most of last year? Well the delays are back, but the project is a little different.

On Tuesday, drivers are going to start noticing road restrictions between Edison Road and Ardennes Avenue. Crews there will pull out their orange barrels and get to work on sewer maintenance around 7 a.m.

While the construction project is going on, traffic will be down to one lane in each direction throughout most of the day. It is expected to be completed by April 15.

In the meantime drivers are encouraged to take it slow while going through construction areas. During peak hours, or when delays are substantial, drivers may consider taking McKinley Highway or Edison Road to Grape Road to avoid the hassle.
