Posted:

Six area agencies that work to curb poverty and homelessness are organizing the 11th annual Homeward Bound 5k Walk and Run to raise awareness and funds on these critical community issues.  Those agencies are Center for the Homeless, Habitat for Humanity, Hannah's House, Hope Ministries, Robinson Community Learning Center and St. Joseph County Bridges Out of Poverty.

Together these organizations impact thousands of families every year, helping them build long-term stability and transition out of poverty.

The Chairman of the Homeward Bound walk and run, Duane Wilson, knows how large the task of ending homelessness can be.  "Our goal is to raise awareness of homelessness," Wilson Says, "and try to knock out homelessness one step at a time."

The race will happen Saturday, April 6th.  It Begins and ends at the Robinson Community Learning Center, 921 N. Eddy Street in South Bend.  More information can be found at the Homeward Bound website.
