Nature of Call: MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT-AUTO THEFT
Blotter: Kierra Brown, 25 years old, reported her 2007 Ford Edge was stolen during the overnight hours. The car had been
parked at the Ashton Pines Apartment complex. The Elkhart City Police Department had stopped and impounded Brown's vehicle
during the early morning hours before Brown had reported it stolen. Elkhart City Police Department provided suspect information
for the auto theft report.

Blotter: Ronald Stebbins, 79 year old Male,of Goshen, Reported that sometime between 7:30pm on 4/6/13 and 9am on 4/7/13
someone broke the windshield and rear window out of his 1996 Ford Ranger that was parked in his driveway. A report was taken.

battered. Each claimed the battery had caused them pain. No signs of injury were observed to either subject.

Nature of Call: CONTRIBUTING TO DELINQUENCY OF MINORS
Blotter: Dillon Grey Ramey, 23 years of age, was stopped in the 1800 BLK of S Main St. for a traffic violation. Ramey had a 17
year old passenger in his vehicle who was reported as a runaway through Arizona . The agency who reported the juvenile as a
runaway was contacted. The juvenile was placed into the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center pending being picked up
from his/her parent/guardian. It was learned that Ramey had been contributing to the deliquency of the minor. He was arrested
for that charge and was released on a memorandum to appear.

Nature of Call: OFFICERS REPORT-DEATH INVESTIGATION
Blotter: On April 7 at 7:54 pm, officers were notified of a pedestrian being stuck by a train . Officers arrived in the area of 1st
Street and River Avenue where collision was determined to have occurred . A freight train traveling Eastbound at approximately
50 miles per hour had struck and killed a 39 year old man. The train was stopped for over two and a half hours while
emergency personnel conducted an investigation after which time the family of the deceased was notified and positive
identification was made.
The decedent: Thomas D Griffis, 39 years of age, of 18254 US HWY 6, New Paris, IN
Alcohol consumption by the decedent is believed to have been a factor in this incident. There is no further information available at
this time.
