Clemon to be sentenced Wednesday morning

The man who admitted to killing a South Bend woman in January 2012 is set to be sentenced Wednesday morning at the St. Joseph County Courthouse.

Manuel Clemon is facing anywhere from 20 to 50 years in prison after his guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter, a class A felony. Clemon says he killed Deshone Caradine in January 2012 in the St. James Court Apartments on the 11-hundred block of North Eddy Street.

The case was South Bend's first homicide investigation of 2012.  Autopsy reports show that Caradine died from multiple stab wounds.

Clemon was arrested three days later in Chicago, where Caradine's car was recovered. Police say he had a stab wound on his shoulder and cuts to his hands.

He is expected to learn his fate at 9 a.m.
