Three people taken to hospital after car crashes into building

Two people were injured when a car crashed into a law office just west of downtown South Bend.  The accident happened shortly after 9:30am on Wednesday at the Mitchell & Hettenheimer Law Offices on the corner of Washington and Scott Streets.

Three people have been taken to the hospital.  The driver was taken due to a medical event related to diabetes.  The other two people were women inside the building at the time of the crash.  The two women have non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver was not injured in the crash.

Emergency officials say that the car turned a corner and hit a fire hydrant across the street from the offices.  The driver then backed up, and in the process, rammed into the building.
