Hundreds of students compete in wheelchair basketball tournament

A resident's hall at Notre Dame hosted its second annual Wheelchair Basketball Tournament Sunday.

Fifty-four student teams competed in this year's tournament, that's up from just 18 the previous year.

The organizer of the event, Notre Dame Sophomore, Emily Voorde says, "We've had a lot of support campus-wide. People that even weren't able to play but wanted to, you know, come help advertise and donate. It's been really great."

This year's event raised $1,500 to provide wheelchairs to those in need all over the world.
