Groundbreaking in Granger for new path

Going for a bike ride in Granger just one step closer.

This morning ground was broken for the first phase of the new path designed for jogging, biking and other things.

The path will connect Mary Frank Elementary School to Elm Road.

Organizers say it has been a long journey just to get to this point.

"There were so many naysayers, they said it couldn't be done, we were gonna have to move septic tanks and people's property lines and there were all kinds of mishaps, and I thought it's not gonna come together, well lo and behold," says Heidi Beidinger-Burnett an organizer.

This initial phase of the path will be about one mile long.
