New South Bend trucks will save money and the environment

You'll be seeing some new wheels in South Bend soon.

The city bought four new CNG trucks. The garbage trucks run on compressed natural gas and will save the city money while being greener. South Bend will be saving 2 dollars and 48 cents a gallon in fuel. Plus these trucks are much more environmentally friendly since they don't run on diesel.

"It's fun. I'm looking forward to it once we get done and we get them outfitted with all the equipment it's going to be fun to see them out on the streets," says director of Central Services, Matt Chlebowski.

They will be out on the roads within a couple of weeks.
