Several former ND players picked up in NFL draft

Former Penn and Notre Dame center Braxston Cave will have a chance to make his dream of playing in the NFL a reality, the opportunity just didn't come the way he had expected.

Cave was signed as an undrafted free-agent by the Cleveland Browns.

Braxston tweeted "Longest day of my entire life... But I'm proud to be a part of the Cleveland Browns organization and am thankful for the opportunity!"

Four former Irish players were selected on the final day of the draft.

Safety Jamoris Slaughter was taken in the 6th round by the Browns.
Runningback Theo Riddick was taken by the Detroit Lions as the 199th overall pick in the 6th round and Kapron Lewis-Moore followed, with the Ravens taking him with the 200th overall pick.

Safety Zeke Motta went to the Falcons with the 244th pick of the 7th round.

Braxston's roommate, Mike Golic, Jr signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
