Monday is a big day for both road crews and drivers in three of Michiana's biggest cities. A number of projects are slated to begin the week. The good news is most of them will affect traffic for only a short while.

Main Street in South Bend will be closed just south of Chippewa Avenue on the city's south side. Crews there will be putting in water and storm lines. The project is expected to wrap up on Wednesday.

Main Street in Mishawaka will see some restrictions this week. The sewer department is going to be out there and they're going to shut down center turn lane and left turn lanes from Catalpa Drive to McKinley Highway. The project will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday.

And finally in Elkhart, Lexington Avenue will be restricted between Vistula and Third Streets near the downtown area. NIPSCO is going to be out there putting in a gas main. That project is slated to wrap up on Friday.
